A pilgrimage to the last lab in the world to processes Kodachrome, Dwayne’s Photo, one year after the chemistry dried up. Immortalized by popular culture through songs like “Kodachrome” by Paul Simon and decades of home movies, Kodachrome was the stuff of memory and Dwayne’s kept the dream alive until Kodak discontinued the process. But with Kodachrome gone and unable to support the fan base, what becomes of Dwayne’s? Willfully resisting the nostalgia of Kodachrome (but still not immune to it) Dwayne’s is a portrait of changing times, process, and the burden of expectation.
